According to Boursenews, published on Tuesday, 18 August 2026 (27 Mordad 1405) at 14:48 local time, global spot gold fell 0.5 percent to about 4,450 dollars an ounce as regional tensions escalated and oil prices rose. Per Sahmino's own recorded data, the decline continued, with the ounce reaching 4,395.16 dollars by 15:29 local time, while the same Boursenews report put Brent crude at 91.54 dollars a barrel.
Separately, Trading Economics reported earlier the same morning that global gold had fallen 0.4 percent to about 4,399 dollars an ounce. Market analysts attribute the rise in oil prices to persistent geopolitical risk around the Strait of Hormuz, which in recent days has involved the halting of several tankers and a reported maritime incident.
