According to ISNA, reported by Donya-e-Eqtesad on Thursday, September 10, 2026 (19 Shahrivar 1405), global oil prices held roughly steady on Thursday after breaking above 100 dollars a barrel. Brent crude futures slipped 0.1 percent to 101.10 dollars a barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate crude rose 0.2 percent to 96.24 dollars a barrel. Both benchmarks had closed up more than 3 dollars on Wednesday, September 9 (18 Shahrivar). Brent is up nearly 30 percent from its lows in early August.
Per the report, oil flow through the Strait of Hormuz, which carried nearly a fifth of world oil and gas before the latest escalation in Iran-US military tensions, has fallen from about 8 to 9 million barrels a day before August 30 (8 Shahrivar) to under 2 million barrels a day now. Citing Reuters, the report said the US Energy Information Administration on Wednesday raised its oil price forecasts for this year and next, citing shrinking global inventories after the loss of Middle East supply.
