Gold and Coin Prices Fall in Tehran's Market Today While the Free Market Dollar Holds Steady

According to the Tehran Gold and Jewelry Union, as reported by Ecoiran on Saturday, August 15, 2026 (24 Mordad 1405), every domestic gold and coin item fell in price even as the global gold ounce rose. Tehran's benchmark gold rate fell to 82,310,000 tomans. Eighteen karat gold traded at 19,001,400 tomans a gram and 24 karat gold at 25,332,000 tomans a gram.
In the coin market, the new design Emami coin traded at 189,200,000 tomans, the old design coin at 187,000,000 tomans, the half coin at 96,900,000 tomans, the quarter coin at 53,000,000 tomans and the gram coin at 27,000,000 tomans, all lower on the day. According to Alanchand, the free market dollar was little changed from the previous day at 07:35 this morning, quoted at a buy rate of 185,550 tomans and a sell rate of 187,400 tomans.
