14 August 2026 · 2 months ago
According to the latest update from the Tehran Gold and Jewelry Union on Friday, August 14, 2026 (23 Mordad 1405), the global gold ounce declined to $4,325, while every item in Iran's domestic gold and coin market rose in price. The Tehran gold rate climbed to 82,670,000 tomans, 18 karat gold reached 19,084,500 tomans a gram, and 24 karat gold reached 25,443,000 tomans a gram.
In the coin market, the new design Bahar Azadi coin rose to 190,000,000 tomans and the old design coin to 187,800,000 tomans. The half coin traded at 97,000,000 tomans, the quarter coin at 53,500,000 tomans, and the one gram coin at 27,000,000 tomans. The divergence between the falling global ounce and the rising domestic market is largely attributed to exchange rate movements in Iran's domestic currency market.
