Iran's gold and currency market entered a corrective phase on Tuesday, 3 Shahrivar 1405 (August 25, 2026), a day after setting fresh records. The Central Bank began supplying 500 million dollars in banknotes to the banking network today and said it could raise the volume if demand increases. That move, together with positive reports on Iran Pakistan talks, helped calm the market.
According to Ecoiran, the free market dollar fell about 1,900 tomans (0.94 percent) from Monday to 201,100 tomans, a level corroborated by the data source tracker, which showed a similar decline (near 1,800 tomans) to about the same range. Tether also fell 3,090 tomans (1.53 percent) to 198,300 tomans.
At the same time, global gold fell 27 dollars (0.58 percent) to 4,638 dollars an ounce, and the domestic coin and gold market retreated as well. The Emami coin dropped 6 million tomans (2.71 percent) to 215.5 million tomans, and the quarter coin fell 2 million tomans (3.28 percent) to 59 million tomans.
