IRGC Announces Controlled Ordnance Disposal Near Pakdasht Today
26 August 2026 | 2 months ago
The public relations office of the Seyyed al Shohada IRGC corps for Tehran province said in a notice on Wednesday, Shahrivar 4, 1405 (August 26, 2026), that a controlled neutralization and disposal operation for unexploded ordnance would be carried out from 10:00 to 16:00 today around Pakdasht county, by specialist disposal teams.
The notice said explosion sounds may be heard in nearby areas during the operation, and it asked residents to remain calm, disregard rumors and follow news only from official sources. Advance notices of this kind have become more frequent in recent weeks, aimed at preventing the sound of planned technical operations from being mistaken for attack reports, a mix up that has repeatedly driven short term swings in Tehran's currency and gold markets.
