According to Boursenews and IME Report, trading on the Iran Mercantile Exchange on Sunday, 8 Shahrivar 1405 (August 30, 2026), saw 2,409,750,283 units of gold investment funds change hands, worth 21.2 trillion tomans. Gold funds are instruments for indirect investment in gold whose units trade like shares on the commodity exchange.
The high trading volume in these funds in recent days, alongside swings in the global gold price and rising geopolitical risk from the renewed US Iran tensions, points to strong retail investor demand for safe haven assets.
