Gulf bourses stay subdued on Sunday as Saudi index edges higher

Gulf stock markets traded subdued and cautious on Sunday, July 19, 2026, as Iran and the United States exchanged missile and drone strikes and the Strait of Hormuz stayed closed.
Saudi Arabia's benchmark index (TASI) edged up about 0.1 percent, helped by a roughly 0.2 percent rise in Aramco shares, holding up better than most regional markets. Gulf investors remain worried about a widening of the conflict and its effect on oil exports and the regional economy.
Most of these markets had also closed lower on Saturday, and the Saudi index fell for a third straight month in June.
