Central Bank of Iran Governor Abdolnaser Hemmati said in a report published on Thursday, October 29, 2026, that annual liquidity growth reached 50.9% in Mehr 1405, down 0.7 percentage points from Shahrivar. Liquidity grew 2.7% during Mehr itself, while cumulative growth over the first seven months of the Iranian year was 24%, he said.

Hemmati said imbalances at some banks have slowed efforts to contain liquidity growth and that corrective plans are on the central bank's agenda. This is a measure of money supply growth, not consumer price inflation; its path matters for monetary policy assessments and currency-market expectations.
