Iran's Labour Minister Sets Start Date for Higher Subsidy Payments to Identified Recipients
Sahmino Newsroom | 29 October 2026 | yesterday
Iran's Minister of Cooperatives, Labour and Social Welfare Ahmad Meydari said in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari on Thursday, October 29, 2026 (7 Aban 1405), that the ministry envisages higher subsidies for about 40 million to 44 million people and has identified 33 million people in the target groups so far. Payments to this identified group are scheduled to begin on 15 Aban 1405 (November 6, 2026); this is a payment timetable, not confirmation that transfers have been made.
Meydari said a questionnaire was prepared to correct errors in household data and the target group has been reported to the Plan and Budget Organization. He linked the limits to available budget. The report does not state the increase per person, so this announcement alone cannot quantify the final effect on household income.
