Eskandar Momeni, Iran's interior minister, and Mohsin Naqvi, Pakistan's interior minister, met and held talks in Tehran on the evening of Tuesday, August 11, 2026 (20 Mordad 1405). According to ISNA, Momeni said some provisions of the two countries' agreement have been implemented in recent weeks and that cross border traffic of cars and trucks carrying goods between Iran and Pakistan has risen significantly, adding he hoped economic exchanges would expand alongside strong political relations. Naqvi, on a one day visit, also met Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and delivered a message from Pakistan's prime minister and army chief.
