Privately imported super gasoline was offered on the Iran Energy Exchange on Wednesday 5 August 2026, and its price was set through the exchange's price discovery process. According to EcoIran, citing the Fars news agency, 240,000 litres were offered at 846,000 rials a litre.
About 50% of the offer, or 120,000 litres, traded at that same rate of 846,000 rials a litre. On that basis the latest discovered price for a litre of imported super gasoline was set at 84,600 tomans.
Energy carriers in Iran, including gasoline, diesel, mazut, kerosene, gas and electricity, are supplied at subsidised prices, and offering them on the Energy Exchange is one of the official mechanisms for discovering their market price. Offering privately imported gasoline on this market provides a route towards a non subsidised reference rate inside the official market.
