According to an announcement by the Trade Development Deputy of Iran's Ministry of Agriculture on Monday 27 July 2026, potato exports remain banned through the end of the current Iranian year.
The notice says the decision was taken in view of rising per capita potato consumption in the country and the need to ensure adequate supply in the domestic market, with the aim of maintaining market balance, preventing supply shortages and meeting consumer demand.
Under the announcement, the relevant agencies are required to enforce the decision and to monitor the supply and distribution of potatoes in the market.
