According to Bourse News, citing Iran's Capital Market News Agency (SENA), the Iran Mercantile Exchange has approved a warehouse operated by the Mani Asia International Group in Bonab, East Azerbaijan province, for trading pistachio deposit certificates. With this approval, pistachio becomes the 12th active asset in the exchange's commodity deposit certificate market and its second agricultural product after saffron, returning to trading after certificates were last traded on 25 Mehr 1403 (October 2024).
According to the exchange's treasury and warehouse management, the certificate's underlying asset is set at one kilogram of open-mouth "fandoghi" pistachio, with a minimum purchase of one certificate. Physical delivery from the warehouse requires holding at least 2,065 certificates, equal to about 2,000 kilograms of pistachios. The exchange said it will announce the exact date the symbol opens for trading at a later time. Pistachio deposit certificate trading first began on Iran's Mercantile Exchange in Mehr 1398 (October 2019).
