Parliament's Energy Committee Chair Calls for Refinery Feedstock Pricing Directive to Be Extended to Year End
12 August 2026 | 2 months ago
According to Bourse News, Mousa Ahmadi, chairman of the Iranian parliament's Energy Committee, sent a letter dated 14 Mordad 1405 (August 5, 2026) to Iran's First Vice President calling for the temporary extension, through the end of the current Iranian year, of the cabinet's 6 Ordibehesht 1405 decree on the pricing directive for refinery feedstock and main petroleum products. The letter, prompted by an August 5 request from the Refining Industry Association, asks the government to issue the order needed to extend the decree while observing Article 1 of the law amending certain provisions of the state's financial regulations in setting the directive.
The request comes as stability in refinery feedstock pricing is one of the variables shaping profit margins and production planning at listed refining companies, and letting the decree lapse without extension could leave these companies facing pricing uncertainty.
