Iran's big three automakers post a 25 percent output drop in the first four months of 1405

1 August 2026 · 2 months ago

According to filings published on the Codal disclosure system, Iran's three largest automakers produced a combined 189,000 passenger cars in the first four months of the Iranian year 1405, down 25 percent from about 252,000 units in the same period of 1404.

Broken down by company over the four month period year on year, Iran Khodro fell 12 percent, Saipa 42 percent and Pars Khodro 62 percent. On a monthly basis, output in Tir was 17 percent lower than in Khordad, with Iran Khodro down 11 percent, Saipa down 16 percent and Pars Khodro down 64 percent. The three had reported a 30 percent decline at the end of the year's first three months, and Khordad's roughly 7 percent gain over Ordibehesht was offset by Tir's drop.

The figures come after regulators approved price increases in late Khordad 1405, with Iran Khodro raising prices by an average of about 45 percent. Donya-e-Eqtesad reports that limited foreign currency allocation, supply chain disruption and automakers' debts to parts suppliers have weighed on output alongside pricing policy. Iran Khodro held 960 non commercialized vehicles in inventory at the end of the four months.
