Iran's Cabinet Allows State Agencies to Pay Employee Welfare Benefits Into Iran Wallet, at Least 1 Million Tomans a Month

According to Khabaronline, under a new resolution by Iran's Council of Ministers, government executive bodies are now required, with employees' consent, to pay part of staff welfare benefits by topping up the "Iran Wallet" digital payment service, with a minimum monthly top up of 1 million tomans. Under the resolution, the Administrative and Employment Affairs Organization must submit eligible employees' information to the Central Bank of Iran so their wallets can be charged.
Per Ecoiran, citing Hamshahri Online, the Cabinet also authorized the Plan and Budget Organization and the Targeted Subsidies Organization to deposit part of the cash subsidy paid to heads of households into their Iran Wallets. To do so, the Targeted Subsidies Organization must report eligible recipients' national ID numbers, mobile phone numbers and chargeable amounts to the central bank and transfer the total sum to its account. Iran Wallet was publicly launched in Mordad 1405 (August 2026), and the central bank says 90 million wallets have been created for Iranians so far.
