Technical Infrastructure for Government Employees' Welfare Wallet Is Ready, Pilot Coordination Continues

Iran's Administrative and Recruitment Organization, citing Ali-Akbar Haddadi Harandi, head of national systems and data-based governance, said on Friday 16 October 2026 (24 Mehr 1405) that the technical infrastructure for a government employees' welfare wallet has been prepared with the Central Bank. The mechanism is designed to pay part of employees' welfare benefits into their Iran Wallet balances under a cabinet resolution.
The official said two ministries have declared their readiness and coordination is under way to begin a pilot. The organization says the trial is intended to assess processes and identify what would be needed to extend the system to other agencies. Technical readiness does not mean welfare payments through the wallet have begun across government agencies; the report gives no start date for the pilot.
