Iran's car market splits on Saturday: Atlas G reaches 1.56 billion tomans while the automatic Shahin eases

25 July 2026 | 3 months ago

Iran's domestic car market moved in two directions on Saturday, 25 July 2026 (3 Mordad 1405): according to rates quoted by dealerships, some Saipa models rose while others retreated.

Eghtesad Online reported that the Saipa Atlas G gained 55 million tomans between the start of the previous week and Saturday, reaching 1.56 billion tomans. By contrast, the automatic Shahin fell 5 million tomans over two days to 2.3 billion tomans, and the Saina S traded unchanged at 1.255 billion tomans.

The latest price recorded for the model-year 1405 Saipa Atlas G on Sahmino's car price board as of Saturday, 3 Mordad, was 1.51 billion tomans; gaps against dealer quotes usually reflect differences in trim, model year and the time of quotation.

The split came on a day when the open-market dollar fell about 1.8 percent and 18-carat gold dropped close to 2.8 percent. The car market's divergence from parallel markets is generally read as a sign of sluggish turnover and weak household purchasing power.
