Iran's car market stays lower in Wednesday trading

22 July 2026 | 3 months ago

Iran's domestic car market was mostly lower in trading on Wednesday, 22 July 2026 (31 Tir 1405), extending the previous day's downtrend, with a significant share of Iran Khodro and Saipa models changing hands at lower prices. Sluggish turnover and political and economic uncertainty have kept buyers cautious.

Among actively traded models, the Peugeot 207 posted one of the largest declines. This came even as the gold and currency markets rose on the same day, with the car market following a separate, downward path.
