Iran's Government Trading Corporation said in a report published on Monday, 3 August 2026 (12 Mordad 1405), that guaranteed wheat purchases from farmers across 31 provinces have passed 7.5 million tonnes since the start of the current Iranian year. With a further tranche of payments settled in recent days, the amount paid to wheat growers has exceeded 1,100 trillion rials (110 trillion tomans).
The purchase operation began in late March with the first deliveries in the south of the country, and buying is now at its peak in western and north western provinces.
Khuzestan leads the table with 1.4 million tonnes, followed by Golestan with 850,000 tonnes, Fars with 700,000 tonnes, Kermanshah with 650,000 tonnes and Razavi Khorasan with 450,000 tonnes. The corporation said the remaining payments owed to wheat growers are being pursued as the necessary funding is secured.
