The head of Iran's General Inspection Organization said on the evening of Sunday 26 July 2026 that of roughly €28 billion in foreign-currency obligations reviewed, close to €26 billion has now been resolved and accounted for.
Foreign-currency obligations refer to the requirement that exporters repatriate the hard currency earned from their exports into the domestic economy, a long-running pillar of Iranian currency policy and one of the factors shaping the supply of foreign exchange in the market. No breakdown by sector was given, nor a list of the cases still outstanding.
