Iran's raw milk price at the farm gate has more than doubled over the past year, rising from 23,000 tomans to 60,500 tomans per kilogram, a spokesperson for the Iran Dairy Industries Association said, Donya-e-Eqtesad reported on Saturday, August 8, 2026. The official said Iran's dairy industry is simultaneously facing a significant rise in production costs, a roughly 10 percent drop in domestic consumption, and a possible decline in exports. The figures come as the cost of livestock feed and energy inputs has climbed in recent months amid the war.
