Iran's Road Maintenance Organization launches the Sepas system for Arbaeen travel with simultaneous return ticket booking
27 July 2026 | 3 months ago
Iran's Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization announced on Monday 27 July 2026 the launch of the Sepas system for Arbaeen travel.
According to the announcement, the system for the first time allows travellers to buy outbound and return Arbaeen tickets online at the same time, and is designed to make travel easier and to manage pilgrims' return journeys.
Managing the return leg has long been a bottleneck in Arbaeen traffic. More than 1.1 million pilgrim crossings at land borders had previously been recorded, with a large number of pilgrims still in Iraq. Road, rail and air transport are among the most heavily demanded services in the country during this period.
