Iran's steel chain exports reach 26.7 million tonnes in eight months, up 41 percent year on year

According to the latest data from the Iran Steel Producers Association, published by Khabaronline on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 (18 Shahrivar 1405), exports of Iran's iron and steel chain reached about 26.7 million tonnes in the first eight months of the Iranian year 1404, up 41 percent from 18.936 million tonnes in the same period a year earlier, with export value exceeding 5.3 billion dollars. Per the data, exports of intermediate steel products including billet, bloom and slab rose 42 percent to about 5.47 million tonnes, worth about 2.26 billion dollars, while beam exports fell 23 percent to about 115,000 tonnes. Exports of flat steel products reached about 962,000 tonnes, worth close to 484 million dollars, even as the country's steel product imports fell 42 percent by weight to about 650 million dollars, of which more than 93 percent was steel sheet.
