Over 4,000 Buyers Purchased Nearly a Million Tons of Cement via Iran Mercantile Exchange in a Week

Kalanews (affiliated with the Iran Mercantile Exchange, IME) reported that in the week ending August 21, 2026 (30 Mordad 1405), 4,425 buyers from 30 provinces purchased 965,592 tons of cement through the exchange. Tehran province led purchase volume with 97,750 tons, followed by Isfahan with 65,475 tons and Khorasan Razavi with 58,695 tons, while West Azerbaijan (478 buyers), Fars (342) and Kermanshah (338) had the highest buyer counts.
The report said routing cement sales through the commodity exchange has made distribution fairer and more transparent, easing access to the material for consumers in both remote and industrial areas.
