IRGC Calls Trump's Secret Channel Claim a Lie as US President Again Threatens to Bomb Oman

US President Donald Trump, in an interview with Fox News correspondent Trey Yingst on Monday, 26 Mordad 1405 (August 17, 2026) reported by The Hill, warned Omani officials not to get in Washington's way as Oman mediates the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, saying: If Oman gets in the way, we will bomb them. No audio of the interview has been released. Trump also claimed the US has a secret channel for direct talks with IRGC officials and said he has no timeline for a permanent deal with Iran, remarks made the same day the Iran-US 60-day understanding formally expired.
Hours later, asked by reporters about Oman's conduct, Trump said Washington is not satisfied with Muscat's behavior but can easily deal with them. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps strongly denied the secret-channel claim the same day; spokesman Colonel Mohebi said no talks between IRGC officials and Americans are underway. The remarks came as Iran and Oman work to finalize an agreement on a safe transit route for ships through the Strait of Hormuz.
