IRGC Strikes US Military Bases in Kuwait and Bahrain

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, that it had struck US military forces stationed in Kuwait and Bahrain with missiles and drones. According to NPR and Al Jazeera, the strikes were a response to a new round of US airstrikes on Iran's coastline the same day, after the ceasefire between the two countries collapsed. Air raid sirens sounded in both Kuwait and Bahrain, with authorities urging residents to take shelter. The IRGC warned it would expand the scope of its retaliation to other US bases in the region if Washington strikes again. The escalation followed the July 6-7 attacks on three tankers in the Strait of Hormuz.
