1 October 2026 · 10 days ago
Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan Chase and Co., said in a Bloomberg interview and a Wall Street Journal op-ed published Wednesday, September 30, 2026 (8 Mehr 1405) that the dollar's status as the world's reserve currency depends entirely on the durability of US economic strength. He urged Washington policymakers to pursue strategic trade agreements with Western allies to prevent an erosion of the dollar's global dominance.

Citing 20 to 30 trillion dollars in foreign investment in the United States and comparable amounts invested abroad by US companies, Dimon called Western trade unity essential, stressing that the dollar will keep its dominance only if the United States finalizes new trade agreements.
