According to ISNA, citing Reuters, preliminary data from shipping company Kepler showed only four cargo vessels transited the Strait of Hormuz on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 (11 Shahrivar 1405), against a 10 day average of about 13 vessels.
Brent crude fell 0.62 percent to $95.04 a barrel and US West Texas Intermediate fell 0.42 percent to $90.63 a barrel on Wednesday, after both benchmarks hit their highest levels since July 24 on Tuesday, September 1 (10 Shahrivar). Sahmino's own live data showed Brent trading around $94.9 a barrel at 11:12am Thursday, September 3 (12 Shahrivar), consistent with the pullback reported by ISNA.
Two Iraqi energy officials also told Reuters on Wednesday that Iraq's oil exports rose from about 1.35 million barrels per day in July to about 2.34 million barrels per day in August, and are expected to rise further in September amid steep discounts and Iran's agreement to let Iraqi vessels transit the Strait of Hormuz.
