According to EcoIran, citing Tabnak, Iran's Ministry of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare has sent text messages suspending kalabarg food subsidy card payments for individuals whose records show a prior exit from the country, pending confirmation of their residency in Iran. Under the messages, affected individuals must visit designated government service offices to lift the suspension, and the ministry said their Mordad month subsidy credit will be paid retroactively once residency is confirmed. Reviews have found that some of the flagged individuals are currently residing in Iran but were included on the list due to incomplete or outdated entry and exit records.
