Iran's Ministry of Cooperatives, Labour and Social Welfare, in a follow up clarification on Monday, August 10, 2026 (19 Mordad 1405) to the kalabarg suspension for households suspected of residing abroad that began on 12 Mordad, said the suspension does not mean a permanent loss of benefits. According to Khabar Online, citing ISNA, from the 21st of Mordad, people whose kalabarg was suspended in Mordad can check their status via the USSD code #1463*500* on their mobile phone or the hemayat.sfara.ir website by entering their national ID number. The ministry stressed that pilgrimage trips, such as to Iraq's shrine cities or Mecca, do not by themselves trigger suspension, and that sailors, students, university faculty, researchers, media workers, diplomatic staff and flight attendants temporarily abroad are also exempt. The legal deadline to verify residency at designated government service offices remains the end of Shahrivar 1405.
