Labour minister says 100 trillion tomans allocated by presidential order for the food-voucher scheme and daily settlement with shops

Valiollah Bayati, spokesman for the Majlis Internal Affairs and Councils Committee, said on Monday, 27 July 2026 (5 Mordad 1405), that the minister of cooperatives, labour and social welfare had told the committee that 100 trillion tomans of resources had been allocated by presidential order to run the electronic food-voucher scheme and to settle accounts with shops on a daily basis.
The decision comes after a growing number of shops had stopped accepting the food-voucher scheme in recent days, with sellers saying they had gone about 25 days without being paid. Daily settlement is a direct answer to that complaint.
Bayati added that the same session was told that pension rulings have been issued and salaries paid under the new rulings for all groups except Telecommunications and Steel Company pensioners. On hospital debts, the labour minister said it had been agreed that 70 trillion tomans would be provided to clear them. No timetable for disbursing these resources was announced.
