By contrast, the Amirkabir dam held 140 million cubic metres and was 78% full, a marked improvement on last year according to the same data. The Latyan dam held 33 million cubic metres (44% full) and the Taleghan dam 179 million cubic metres (43% full). Khabar Online noted that after six years of drought, rainfall in Esfand and Farvardin (late winter and early spring) improved some reservoirs but cannot offset several years of low rainfall, and that curbing consumption remains necessary.
