Large stores given until the end of Shahrivar to connect to the national food coupon network

The deputy minister for welfare and economic affairs at Iran's ministry of cooperatives, labour and social welfare said all chain stores, multi branch corporate retailers and small stores with monthly food coupon sales above one billion tomans have only until the end of Shahrivar 1405 to connect to the national food coupon network. The announcement was published on Tuesday 28 July 2026 (6 Mordad 1405).

The electronic food coupon scheme is the mechanism for distributing part of the household subsidy as credit for buying staple goods. Setting a connection deadline for large stores affects the coverage of the network that accepts this credit, and therefore the share of coupon based sales in retail turnover, which matters for the retail and distribution companies present in the capital market.
