Mercedes-Benz recalls 310,667 vehicles in the US over a driver's door lock fault

The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said on Thursday, 30 July 2026, that Mercedes-Benz is recalling 310,667 vehicles in the United States.
According to the regulator, the recall stems from the risk that an open door will not be detected. Corrosion of a microswitch in the driver's door lock can prevent the automatic parking brake from engaging, which can lead to unintended vehicle movement and a rollaway.
The recall covers the CLA, the A-Class, the C-Class, the GLA and GLB crossovers, and the GLC. Dealers will replace the driver's door lock free of charge.
