The newspaper Donya-e-Eqtesad reported on Wednesday, 5 August 2026 (14 Mordad 1405), that a shipment of knocked down (KD) parts for the Nissan Terra sport utility vehicle has cleared Iranian customs after months of delay, with the clearance process beginning last week.
Iran's automotive supply chain has been under heavy pressure in recent months from disruption to international transport links and restrictions on maritime traffic. According to the report, to bypass the blockage of standard sea routes and reduce delays caused by the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, part of the consignment entered the country over land borders via an alternative rail route, while another part reached customs by sea after several months of waiting.
The cleared parts have been loaded for delivery to the Manian Khodro plant, whose management says it intends to run Nissan Terra assembly at maximum capacity in order to meet its commitments to buyers sooner. Feeding these parts into the production lines could raise assembly and delivery figures for the vehicle in the months ahead.
