Official Dollar Rate at Iran's Exchange Center Rises 209 Tomans Today, Euro Retreats in Agreed Rate Trading

Trading on the board of Iran's Currency and Gold Exchange Center saw a mixed picture on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 (11 Shahrivar 1405), according to Boursenews: gains for trade and regional currencies against a relative pullback in the basket of major international currencies. The sell rate for US dollar remittances rose 209 tomans to 159,355 tomans, with the buy rate recorded at 157,920 tomans.
Alongside the dollar, the UAE dirham's sell rate rose 57 tomans to 43,391 tomans, with its buy rate set at 43,000 tomans. The Chinese yuan rose 35 tomans to 23,710 tomans, and the Indian rupee rose 7 tomans to 1,679 tomans. In contrast, the euro's sell rate fell 155 tomans to 184,723 tomans, with its buy rate at 183,061 tomans; the Japanese yen (per 100 units) fell 57 tomans to 99,571 tomans and the South Korean won (per 1,000 units) fell 190 tomans to 116,117 tomans. The exchange center's rates, also known as the agreed rate (dollar tavafoqi), are calculated separately from the free market dollar rate, which crossed 220,000 tomans today.
