Passenger-car petrol quota changed to 110 litres from the start of Mordad; an extra 20 litres at the third rate approved for three provinces

Farhad Shahraki, first deputy chair of the Iranian parliament's energy committee, said on Monday, 27 July 2026 (5 Mordad 1405), that the petrol quota for passenger cars changed to 110 litres from the start of the month of Mordad, comprising 60 litres at the first rate and 50 litres at the second rate.
He said the government has agreed to allocate an additional 20 litres at the third rate (5,000 tomans) for the three provinces of Sistan and Baluchestan, Kerman and Hormozgan, which face structural problems with public transport.
Shahraki also said the oil ministry has agreed in principle to a scheme transferring the quota on filling stations' open cards to owners' personal fuel cards, with a pilot due to start during the current month of Mordad in one of those three provinces. He said the scheme would help bring transparency to fuel distribution.
Separately, Nematollah Najafi, operations manager of the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company, said 98 percent of people hold personal fuel cards, and that 23 mobile refuelling stations have been deployed on routes leading to the western borders for Arbaeen travel.
