Persian Gulf Bourses Fall on Tuesday as US-Iran Tensions Escalate; Saudi Tadawul Down 0.8%
15 July 2026 | 3 months ago
Most Persian Gulf stock markets closed lower on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, as investors turned cautious after the United States resumed its naval blockade of Iran and both sides intensified strikes around the Strait of Hormuz. Saudi Arabia's benchmark Tadawul index fell 0.8%, with Al Rajhi Bank down 1.7%, though oil major Aramco rose 1.4% as crude prices climbed.
Dubai's main index dropped 1.3%, even as the emirate's largest lender, Emirates NBD, gained 2.7%. Concern over disruption to global energy supply through the Strait of Hormuz was the main pressure on these markets.
