President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Thursday midday, 15 October 2026 (23 Mehr 1405), at a meeting of East Azerbaijan's planning and development council that about 230 million cubic metres of the country's gas capacity was damaged in the recent attacks. He said the damage, on top of a pre-existing imbalance of roughly 300 million cubic metres, has put added pressure on the country's energy supply, and that part of the damaged infrastructure has been restored so far.

Pezeshkian stressed that planning must be done with the public, guilds, provincial managers and business operators to get through energy constraints, so that factories and production units do not face serious disruption this winter and their water, electricity and gas supply does not stop. He also called for giving provincial managers more authority. The remarks were reported by Mehr News Agency and reflected by Donya-e-Eqtesad. The report gives no timetable for restoring the rest of the damaged infrastructure.
