Hamid Pourmohammadi, head of Iran's Plan and Budget Organization, said in a state TV interview on Saturday, 17 October 2026, that text messages have gone to about 44 million people placed in the livelihood-support group on current data, asking them to check and confirm or correct their information. He added that anyone who believes they qualify but is not among the 44 million will get a separate form for review and verification once this stage ends. He stressed that national resources are limited and should go to the neediest, including households with a disabled child or no housing. No date or amount for the credit increase was given in the interview.
