Plan and Budget Chief: Food Coupon Amounts Will Rise in Mehr

Seyed Hamid Pourmohammadi, vice president and head of Iran's Plan and Budget Organization, said the value of the electronic food coupon (kalabarg) for eligible recipients will be increased in the month of Mehr 1405 (from September 23, 2026). The remarks were published on Thursday, September 24, 2026, citing ILNA.

According to Pourmohammadi, coupons for people covered by the Imam Khomeini Relief Committee and the Welfare Organization, and for those these two bodies identify as waiting in line or entitled to a larger amount, will be raised without any action on their part. He added that by next week text messages will be sent to 44 million identified people asking them to complete a declaration, to determine whether they belong to the groups that should receive support, after which the increased coupon will be paid.

The report did not state the new coupon amount.
