Persian Gulf stock markets slid after Iran fired missiles and drones at US-linked sites in Kuwait and Bahrain and put Qatar on high alert on Thursday, July 9, 2026. According to Reuters, via Business Recorder (July 10, 2026), Qatar's stock index fell 0.8% and Qatar National Bank shares dropped 1%, while Kuwait's Boursa Kuwait also declined. The selloff coincided with Brent crude jumping to $77.30 a barrel. This marks the first time the equity-market reaction has been specifically documented spreading to the Qatari and Kuwaiti bourses, beyond the Dubai and Abu Dhabi declines reported earlier.
