Retail investors put a net 2.01 trillion rials into exchange traded funds in Sunday's session

According to a report by the research management of Iran's Securities and Exchange Organization, turnover in exchange traded funds on the Tehran bourse reached 455 trillion rials on Sunday, 2 August 2026 (11 Mordad 1405). Of that total, about 302 trillion rials was in fixed income funds, roughly 97 trillion rials in commodity funds and about 60 trillion rials in equity and mixed funds.

In the same session, net buying by retail investors across the exchange traded fund market was positive at 2.009 trillion rials (about 201 billion tomans). Broken down, retail investors were net sellers of fixed income funds, taking 12.703 trillion rials (about 1,270 billion tomans) out of that category, while they were net buyers of 8.697 trillion rials (about 870 billion tomans) in equity and mixed funds and 6.015 trillion rials (about 601 billion tomans) in commodity funds.

Among commodity funds, turnover was 81.838 trillion rials in gold funds, 6.721 trillion rials in silver, 4.745 trillion rials in energy, 3.148 trillion rials in real estate and 379 billion rials in saffron. The mix indicates that retail money rotated in this session out of fixed income instruments and towards riskier and commodity linked assets. A gram of 18 carat gold in the domestic market stood 2 percent lower at 18,330,000 tomans the same day.
