Retail money inflow to the Tehran bourse reached 5,821 billion tomans on Monday as 97% of symbols closed higher

4 August 2026 | 3 months ago

Trading data for Monday, 12 Mordad 1405 (August 3, 2026) show 5,821 billion tomans of retail capital flowed into share trading, a figure rarely matched since the start of the current Iranian year. Small-cap turnover on the same day reached about 19,000 billion tomans.

The Tehran bourse's main index closed Monday up 2.39% at 5,277,000 points, a new high for the year to date. The equal-weighted index rose 2.49% to around 1,497,000 points and the Farabourse main index gained 2.7%. The simultaneous rise in the main and equal-weighted indices indicates the advance was not confined to a handful of large caps.

In the same session 97% of traded symbols ended higher and only 3% closed in negative territory. About 12,000 billion tomans of buy orders remained unfilled on the board at the close for want of supply. Since the start of 1405 the main index has risen more than 40% and the equal-weighted index more than 50%. Analysts tie the continuation of the rally to the stability of macroeconomic variables, the path of the exchange rate, the government's monetary and fiscal policies, and continued liquidity inflows.
