17 September 2026 | last month
According to Bloomberg, as reported by Donya-e-Eqtesad, Saudi Arabia is working, citing an informed source, to restore about half the capacity of its East to West strategic oil pipeline within the next few days, after it was knocked offline last week (September 11, 2026) by drone attacks, the outlet reported Thursday, September 17, 2026.

The pipeline, which carries roughly 4 to 5 percent of global oil supply and lets Riyadh bypass the Strait of Hormuz, saw some of its European crude shipments canceled after the attack, according to Al Jazeera, which had also reported US efforts to help reopen the line amid escalating fighting in Yemen. A partial restoration of capacity could ease pressure on global oil markets, where Brent crude has traded above $100 a barrel this week.
