Saudi-Led Coalition Says It Intercepted a Missile Toward Khamis Mushait and Two Drones Toward Riyadh

The Saudi-led coalition in Yemen said on X on Saturday, 4 Mehr 1405 (September 26, 2026), that its air defenses intercepted one ballistic missile launched by the Houthis toward Khamis Mushait and two drones headed toward Riyadh. According to Al Jazeera, the announcement followed reports in Saudi media, citing local sources, of explosions heard in Riyadh and sirens in Abha and Khamis Mushait; Khabar Online, citing air traffic monitoring sites, reported disruption to flights over the Riyadh area lasting more than half an hour.

Meanwhile, Rashad al-Alimi, chair of Yemen's Presidential Leadership Council, on Friday, September 25, in his first speech since government forces were pushed off the western Red Sea coast, called for a general mobilization to join the armed forces and announced an immediate amnesty for Houthi fighters who defect. According to Al Jazeera, the government aims to counter Houthi advances toward the Bab al-Mandeb strait.

Brent crude traded at $104.32 a barrel early on Saturday (4:51 a.m. Tehran time), down 0.33 percent.
