Supreme Energy Council Approves Each Sector's Gas Share for the Four Cold Months

Iran's Supreme Energy Council, in a session chaired by First Vice President Mohammadreza Aref and reported on Sunday, 5 Mehr 1405, reviewed scenarios for managing gas consumption in the residential, commercial, public, industrial, agricultural, transport and power-generation sectors for the four cold months of this year, and approved each sector's share of consumption. The ministers of oil, industry, energy, agriculture and economy and the head of the Plan and Budget Organization attended.

Referring to damage to gas infrastructure in the two recent wars, Aref said very good progress had been made in recent months in reducing the energy imbalance and part of the damage had been repaired. He called securing energy for industry and agriculture a baseline for every government manager, asked the public to save electricity and gas as cold weather sets in by mid-autumn, and called for a plan to cut consumption in the residential and government sectors.
According to the first vice president, the president holds several expert-level meetings every week on closing part of the energy gap through solar power generation.
