The Tehran Stock Exchange closed Wednesday 7 Mordad 1405 (29 July 2026), the last trading day of the week, with its indices moving in opposite directions. The overall index (TEDPIX) fell 33,913 points, or 0.66%, to 5,075,000, while the equal-weight index rose 6,255 points, or 0.44%, to 1,432,000, pointing to relative resilience among smaller names against selling pressure. Some 59% of listed symbols traded in positive territory on the day.
Turnover in shares, pre-emption rights and equity funds reached 66.8 billion units, with trade value at 27,031 billion tomans. Per-capita buying stood at 79.1 million tomans against per-capita selling of 108.7 million tomans, retail buying power was at minus 1.38, and retail money leaving the equity market totalled 2,204 billion tomans.
According to the report, supply pressure and sell queues across most leveraged funds were a notable feature of the session. On the other side, a rising dollar and a positive open for gold funds drew part of the liquidity into parallel markets, while higher oil prices, together with a Reuters report that Iran had rejected Oman's proposal for joint management of the Strait of Hormuz, weighed on trader sentiment and added to selling.
